A music packaging project for the fictional rock/ nu gaze band The Shrouders (or "Los Shrouders" in this case). I wanted to explore the controversial subject of bullfighting or the "Corrida de Toros" as it's called in Spain. I am interested in the conflict that it generates amongst its supporters and detractors, and the implications on how we deal with our deeply-rooted traditions in the face of a more modern morality.

The design of these wine labels is based on jazz album covers in the 1940s and 50s, from record labels such as Columbia and Blue Note and designers such as Alex Steinweiss, Neil S. Fujita and David Stone Martin.
The logotype is Horseshoes And Lemonade by Lauren Ashpole and the secondary type is Beat Street by Altsys.

In 1783 Louis-Sébastien Lenormand leapt off the Tour de la Babotte in Montpellier to successfully demonstrate his working parachute to a crowd that included inventor Joseph-Michel Montgolfier.
While the parachute (a term he coined) was a 14 feet tall, conical device, a collecting card from 1890 depicts him sailing down from the observatory with an umbrella. An umbrella, folks.

A student project in which I did a series of Lyrics & Type posters based on the real project (http://www.lyricsandtype.com/). This particular poster was my favourite and was based on lyrics from Sunset Rubdown's song 'Apollo and the Buffalo and Anna Anna Anna Oh!'.
I felt the themes of the song were very nostalgic, so I chose to depict that through romantic imagery associated with Americana.

This fictional film title sequence is a graphic design project.
It is designed based upon my interpretation of the book Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds. The title and images refer to/ represent aspects of the narrative (though in a somewhat abstract manner).
I designed a custom typeface specifically for this project and the images and music are also of my own creation. The animation itself is more a guide than a finished product, the real nature of the project lying with the relationship between type, image and narrative.
This is a non-commissioned work designed for the purposes of my education and it has no official affiliation with Alastair Reynolds or his publishers. He has written many wonderful stories, please find out more about them at his website: http://voxish.tripod.com/
